Protesting the Drones at Lockheed and Horsham

Preparations are in progress to set up a Drone Command Center at the Horsham Air Guard Station, and Pennsylvania Mennonites are joining with other folks to oppose the manufacture and deployment of military drones that have already been responsible for the deaths of several thousand civilians, especially along the Afghanistan border with Pakistan. [Read Carolynn Boyd’s report of a recent protest at Horsham in the January 2014 issue of Peace & Justice News. ]

The next protest demonstration at Lockheed Martin, the U.S.’s #1 military contractor and nuclear weapons producer, and a chief manufacturer of drone warfare technology, will be January 20, 2014 (in King of Prussia, PA); and monthly protest demonstrations at Horsham will resume on Saturday, March 29, 2014. See the Brandywine events calendar at www.brandywinepeace.com and the Horsham protest website: dronefreehorsham.com for more information. There are also photos from past demonstrations at www.pjsn.org/blog.

For the Horsham protests, there are often carpools coming from Lehigh Valley and Akron, PA, areas.
For carpool information from the Lehigh Valley to Horsham demonstrations, contact LEPOCO Peace Center (www.lepoco.org, lepoco@fast.net, 610-691-8730).

Speakers can be arranged for Sunday school classes or other groups that want to learn more about drones and the local protest demonstrations. (Contact us for more information: drones@ppjr.org ).
