Pilgrims Peace Prayer for 4/20/14
Lord, today is a happy occasion for many people.   Easter Sunday!

But alas, many of God’s children the world over cannot rejoice today, Easter Sunday!

Why?  Because they are being brutalized on Easter Sunday!

The millions languishing in our jails, what does Easter Sunday mean to them?

Our wounded vets slaughtered on the altars of the U.S. military-industrial complex, still shaking in their boots on Easter Sunday?

The innocent victims of U.S. drone strikes, do they know that it is Easter Sunday?

“In as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me,” even though it be Easter Sunday!

Lord, in your mercy, hear their prayers this Easter Sunday!

Pilgrims Peace Prayer for 3/9/14
Prayer for the Ukraine

Lord our hearts are heavy today because of the conflict raging in the Ukraine.

We pray that the evil forces attempting to destabilize, divide and conquer the Ukraine would be stopped, that bloodshed would cease, peace be restored, weapons discarded and brotherly and sisterly love break out all over. May the bereaved be comforted, the wounded healed and may stability, peace and love for all be established in the Ukraine.

We beseech you that both local as well as international actors support all possible initiatives for dialogue, harmony and peace.

Let not the conflict spread to areas adjacent to the Ukraine nor may it become a battlefield between East and West.

May all options for a peaceful solution be explored. May the territory of the Ukraine become a hallowed place where God’s love and Peaceable Kingdom rule.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer!

Pilgrims Peace Prayer for 2/9/14

Lord, we pray today for our country, and for deliverance from the all powerful Military-Industrial Complex.

We witness the ever-growing defense budget, larger than the defense budget of any other country in the world.  We see the way preparations for war steal resources that are needed to feed the hungry, and meet needs for education and social services in our country.

God, we long to see weapons manufacturers retool their factories to make useful products for the world.  We long to see weapons beaten into plowshares.

At this time of year that we are working on payment of taxes, we long to see our legislators re funnel our taxes from war making to programs and products that promote the life, health, happiness, liberty and peace of all citizens on this planet.

Lord, in you mercy, hear our prayer!
